Vista View Interior Edging?

Was curious what others did when replacing the old trim with new trim around the vista view cutouts in the interior. The old trim was very small and narrow and all I can find now is large bulky trim which makes it difficult to pull the sliding door down to close.

I'm interested in this too. On our TT, it seems to have shrunk lengthwise quite significantly over the years.

The stuff Inland RV has should fit without causing a problem with the slide. I have my order but have not installed it yet so can't say for sure.

Someone here has surely installed it and can comment.

Yes, that's close to the original, but I'm hoping to find what's there already, the smooth type. Otherwise, I'd have to do ALL the windows, and they aren't all bad.

But thanks, never thought to look there.

There is plastic trim available at Lowe's which we used to replace the old, shrunken trim. It is used to trim around plastic wall sheeting used in bathrooms or kitchens (melamine or something like that).

It can't be bent so the corners must be mitred or overlapped like vinyl siding trim , but it is inexpensive and easy to cut with snips.

I haven't glued mine in place yet, but a little bead should do the trick.

My wife is very pleased with the results as am I. It's not the original, but it's inexpensive and available. (Available in white, almond, and gray)

Very interesting, Ron. Is is possible for you to take a pic or two of this trim? Sounds like a viable option.

We got ours from Inland RV also. Have not installed yet. Have to paint first. If you want a pic of what it looks like PM me and I will email it to you.

Mike,

Here you go. We also used it to cap the end of the inner skin where it joins the plastic end cap (as you can see if you look closely) I did notch it out for the rivets on the inner skin and then nudge it in closer once all rivets were in place. (I used a putty knife behind the trim to create just a bit of clearance when installing the rivets.)

I used the bulky stuff. It goes around corners nicely, stays put and does not interfere with my slide.

Looks great, Ron! Very nice job! I'll look into the trim you used.
