Tinting WIndows

Thinking about having tint put on our Caravel's windows. Are most people happy once it's been done? I'm not sure how dark we want it either? Any helpful hints out there?

It will be a personal choice. I have one Airstream with and one without. If I am camping in the trees (personal preference) I prefer no tint. If camping in the wide open spaces tint is nice to have. One thing I don't like about tint, is at night it works against you, people cab see in, but it is more difficult for you to see out.

I tinted the windows in our 63 Overlander, but the Sovereign has clear windows. I am considering going to a medium tint on the Sovereign, the Overlander had limo tint.
Tinting will cut down on sun fade, as well as glare.

We live in Alaska. So I'm thinking about going with mirror tint. It's pretty warm here in the summer and we have tons of light. It would cut down on the heat coming in. Plus in June the sun goes down, but it's still light out. Our first trip out I realized I need to do something so I can sleep better.

Room darkening pull-down window shades will help you as well.
Here's a photo of the Overlander with the dark tinted windows:

There was more than enough light to see clearly, but not glaring, nor bright. I have since tinted the windows in our new trailer, what I used was 25% light reduction, and 37% heat reflection. I keeps the brightness down to a tolerable level. In the trailer int he photo above, it was impossible to see in during the day, but equally impossible to see out when dark.

I saw a 60s AS with mirror type tinting. Is that type still available?

Yes, it is - I have a roll of it I got from Auto Zone. I also want to tint my Caravel's rear bathroom window. Just have't got around to that task yet.

Marshall...Did you like the way the mirror tint looked? It's crossed my mind to put that on our AS. I have winter to decide. I want to make sure I make the right decision.

static cling window tint

I cam across this site with static cling tint. It seems if its too dark for me then I can just peel the tint off and get some lighter tint. If its like those static cling window stickers then it should stick pretty well. Does anyone have experience using this tint? What do you all think about this?
