Tinting trailer windows

Hi all - fairly new here but have had a 2008 25 FB International CCD since it was new and a motorhome before that.

We are thinking about tinting the windows in our trailer to reduce glare. We don't want to get a dark tint and impact our views, but would like to not have fading on our cushions. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

I was able to Google for results using my web browser. Is there a better way to search within forums? When I searched, I found many threads that didn't appear to have much related to window tinting.

Thanks for helping this newbie!

I have talked to my mechanic about this - I am planning to get the bedroom windows tinted. Just find a local limo tint company, they should be able to do this just fine.

When we got our 1987 25' Sovereign in 2010 it had clear glass windows. In the spring of 2011. I wanted to get the windows tinted. The trailer has panoramics at both ends and all the tinting shops in Toledo said that the four sections at the corners could not be done. I found an old timer who said he could do the corners but they would have to be done with 2" to 4" wide strips. We used an almost clear tint film that blocks about 95% of the uv rays, and it really keeps the trailer cooler. With the clearer film the over laps on the corner windows are barely noticeable. During the last three years nobody that has looked at our trailer has ever said anything about the overlaps.

We recently had film (from 3M) professionally installed on all our window glass (while it was apart for restoration). A few air bubbles here and there, a few wavy spots - but so far we think it's worth it. We chose one that's nearly clear when held up to the light. Hopefully it won't look too tinted from the outside, which I think always looks out of character on an old trailer.

Should be much less glare, and it blocks 99% of UV light. Additionally, we used a "safety film" for the front windows (we don't plan on using a rock guard) and a heavily frosted film for the bathroom window.

All of this is installed on the inside of course, so it should last a nice long time.
