Tint for Front window?

Do you want to tint the flat section of your front window? It is pretty easy with tint film which you can buy for about $10 at Autozone. It is easier to apply if you take the front window out by detaching the arms and rotating the window out of the channel and laying the window on its back on a table. Then you can easily strip the carrier sheet off and apply the tint to the inside of the glass. Otherwise you are working upside down on a tilted surface which is alot rougher. You do not want a permanent tint you could buy a piece of smoked plexiglass and cut it to shape and lay it on top of your opened front window like an awning. Make sure you secure it with bungies or tape to prevent it from flying away. I have also seen some people just use a piece of awning canvas with retainer buttons to accomplish the same thing cheap. If you want one of those tinted formed rock shields, they sell for the 70's and 80's units they cost about
$250.

Popeye,

There are a few options if you don't want to spend the big bucke for a new window cover. You can get a very dark static cling film that goes on the inside of the window and is removeable (Wal-Mart), or you can have the inside of the window tinted by a pro for a few more bucks. There are loads of places in SW FL that do it, and I imagine you can find them where you live also. The nice thing about a T/T is that you can tint it as dark as you like with no restrictions!

I tinted the windows on our coach with Limo Tint. The one I got blocks 80% of light, and 42% of heat. It was $10.99 for a 24"x6' roll.

I got mine simply for the rock guarding. I'd hate to replace one of those!
