Tint & Screens

Hello everyone, I'm in the beginning stages of a remodel and currently working on windows. I will be tinting the windows this weekend with a black tint and wonder about what type of screens (color) would be best given this choice. Don't want to do dark on dark if that's known to be a poor combination. Thanks in advance.

I used Solar screen material from Lowe's for my 75 Argosy. In the daytime with windows closed it appears the windows are tinted. You cannot see in, but you can see out just fine. At night with the trailer lit inside you would need some curtains as we did. The reason we did this is because once you ope the window the tint is no longer useful

Tinted all my windows with auto stuff - medium tint. World of difference with the Florida heat. Did make it darker inside but still acceptable. I used the permanent stuff. Black ??? I don't know. Might be too dark. Let us know.

Do not use "Dawn" as soapy applicator. It eats the adhesive. You will get bubbles sooner.

I found and use in scented Ivory liquid.

Oh, the metalized stuff is good but blocks resto signal. Use ceramic coated.

I should also mention that by using the solar screens I cut my heat transference by at least 80%-as good or better than tinting and a lot less hassle. We are in south Texas so we have a little heat as well.

And I would love to go the other way, to clear glass windows on my FC 20'. But there is no option, so it is like a cave inside unless it is a very sunny day. Lights have to be on longer in the morning, and earlier in the afternoon. Moderately bright days look like dark stormy ones. Park in the shade here in the northwest, and it is dark inside. The front double tint pano window is especially bad, with dark tint on the glass and then dark tint on the rock guard protector.

Am I the only one who dislikes the no option dark tinted windows that Airstream has?

I love my clear windows! We don't even have a rock guard on the front window! I know I know..... We are risk takers! But I love the brightness inside.

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.
