Vista Vue

I looked at an ebay special today(1975 Ambassador 29ft.)
I have only been looking for a couple of weeks and have only seen two up close.
The vista vue windows had bubbles and the Vulkem was hanging down on at least two of the lowers looking like heat melted it.To rehab these do you just drill the rivets and remove the whole unit leaving an oblong hole in the shell? Then rerivet the whole thing after fix.
Since I am looking for my first AS and using the advice I find on the forum this looked like it could be extensive(4 or 5 windows)Will most look this way?
Is this something that could be expensive even to DIY.
The coach seemed ok with all working appliances other than that.

I replaced the non opening side windows with LEXAN from Lowe's I drilled out the 50 some odd rivets removed the broken window used the old gasket and reinstalled with 50 some odd rivets.

The frame is held together with some pins and slides apart not a difficult job but a PITA to put the window back together.

If you use replacement windows as I did on the first one the rivets do not line up every window is unique and all new holes have to be drilled. For the next 2 I went with Lexan and they look like brand new windows 4 years later.

NOTE you can install Lexan backwards so make sure you put the UV blocking side towards the outside.
