So, my front center window met some gravel...

On my 86' Sovereign, took a chunk of gravel almost dead center on the front center window. The safety glass is fractured in about a million pieces but still in place.

So, know inning zilch about glass, the question becomes:

Can, say an auto glass place, replace that outer pane or I am about to start looking for a salvage yard for a used but serviceable replacement?

Any help greatly appreciated,

Mike

Since you have to replace it consider lexan or plexiglass. Glass shop should be able to get you those. Since it's flat a glass shop should be able to get you safety glass in the correct size as well.

Check out Vintage Trailer Supply | Parts for 1940s-1970s Travel Trailers for both the glass and a rock guard.

A glass shop should be able to handle that flat glass no problem.

The Airstream factory made us a new center window for our '77 and shipped it to us, as we needed the frame too. We just gave them our model & serial#, and it fit perfectly. Reasonable price too.
