Screen Fuzzy Installation

Now I've got the screen fuzzy to install. What thread do I unravel to get the 'fuzzy'?

You don't unravel anything, at least I didn't. Just glue them in and they are self fuzzing with use.

Remove the single thread that's on one side, to release the bristles. The other side is sewn together at the edge.

If not removed, the fuzzy will not do it's intended job very well.

I can post a photo, but not until Monday.

Screen Fuzzy's

Andy, thanks for the advice. When I talked to the girl I ordered it from, she said that you had a video to show 'how to'. I've seen it before, but now I can't find it. Is it still there? If not, it's okay. You've given me the info I need.
Thanks for all your expertise. It is invaluable to us 'newbies'!!

Kani and Jack.

Sorry I missed you both.

Thank you for stopping by and seeing what we call "our place."

When you hear the sounds from those big sea shells in Hawaii, they are "calling," all their cousins to "luau's in the pits".

So gotta go.

Maybe next time, and we can have lunch together, too.

I am not aware of a "fuzzy movie".

Always glad to help everyone, that we can.

Screen Fuzzy's

Well, I got the fuzzy stuff installed last night. It was a messy, messy job! Black goo all over my fingers, on the screen frame and on the fuzz. I am usually a neat freak about things like this and it drove me crazy...
I don't know how I could have done it any better. Fortunately, only a black dab or two will show in the slot on the fuzzy on the inside. The mess on the back will be covered by the AS wall.

Remove the one thread as shown in this photo.

Use yellow adhesive for the installation.

I have a 71 Sovereign that had the screen fuzzies installed on all of the frames but upon closer inspection of the back of the screen-frames I see glue-lines that indicate it had (at one time) the plastic screen-plates with the fine-grained plastic fuzzy material. The plastic screen-plate-fuzzies are over three times the cost, but I'm not sure which seals out the bugs as effectively. Which one would you recommend I restore with? Thanks.

The fuzzy seal "plates" were design for the infamous 1979 windows.

But, they very accidentally fit the 1969 model scrrens, which solves that years problem as well.

Other that th 1969 and 1979 models, the loose fuzzy seal is the correct part to use.

Each side of the screen uses 2 pieces 10 inches long, with the fuzzy edges touching.

That makes a total of 40 inches, per screen.
