Resealing exterior Vista windows question

Have a leaky vista view window on my 70 sovereign and i think that exterior reasealing should do the trick. I've read some threads on here for restoration of the vista view windows but just need clarification on a couple of things. Should all of the old exterior caulking be removed before application of caulking?, AND what is best cauking to use for this application? durabond or vulkem ?Should it be spread smooth to bond or just left ridged, also its getting cold and I'm concerned about setup. Would I be best to just cover with plastic and tape and wait till warm weather? thanks

I am not sure how much sucess you will have without completely removing the glass, cleaning it up and reset in vulkum, but I guess you have nothing to lose, so give it a try. I would dig out as much of the old seal as you can, clean it with mineral spirits, denatured alcahol, and seal with the vulcum. I think you need temps above 50.

Is the leak from around the frame to trailer body or is it frame to glass?

Clean the surfaces very well, then apply Vulkem or Sikoflex sealer.
