replacing screens in a 62

The screens in my 62 are original (I think). They are not the common type of window screen but constructed with rows of tightly spaced fins or vanes. They are all in good shape except for the door in door screen. Are the original type screens available anyplace? If not what alternatives are there for screen replacement?

I just noticed that VTS started carrying steel screening material.

here's the photo

Here's what the screens look like. I'm guessing they are not available except as used. Anybody have any suggestions for other types of replacements?

Lumatic, if you find a source for that I would be very interested. That looks very trippie to say the least. I replaced all my screen with the black aluminum screen. My two year old has carefully pushed all them out again and I need to re do them. She is very respectful of every aspect of the trailer except the window screens.
PS... glad you are working on her, only you will love her like she deserves.

I have found some unusual material that can be used for a screen or privacy shade. Check for it at a local hardware store. (not the big box ones)

Yup. They are the green ones. Kind of an earthy green tone.

Steve at VTS found out these screens are called "sun screens" and were optional in the 60s.

Sun Screens!

Sun Screens! That makes perfect sense. I need to find one to replace a missing one on a Jalousie window. Either that, or I need to find one used the same size or larger than mine, and then I can cut it do size. I do still have the frame, but it now has a traditional screen. Since 8 or 9 windows still have the sun screens, I'd like to round it out. Thanks Lumatic..

I pulled out the worst screen today. It is attached with a spline about 3/16" diameter. So you should be able to replace with common mesh screen.
