Replacement glass - '71 Globetrotter
I just purchased a 71 globetrotter and the left (streetside) fwd of the three fwd windows has been replaced poorly with Lexan. I thought that I read somewhere in the forum that somebody is now making replacement glass, but I can,t seem to locate the thread. Does anyone know if new glass is available, or am I stuck with polycarbonate.

Aerowood,
I only know of vintagetrailersupply.com that have new replacement glass, but only for units from the 60´, so we 70´s owners have to stick to lexan or makrolon...
I am just scanning the wanted pages, hope you´ll have them within the next hour...

isn't the glass on your 71 flat? the replacement problem was just for the curved corning glass in the 66-68 models. if the ones you need are flat glass, i imagine that a good glass place can find some tempered glass and have it cut to fit?
I'm lucky that my 71 is in great shape window wise, let up know what you end up with.

Glass for post 1970 windows should still be available from Airstream.

I think I found one at a local RV salvage (Cherrokee) I'll check for new, and see who's cheaper.

Aerowood,
That is a wing window, they are available from Airstream via a dealer, however the new/replacement windows are single pane, not double pane like the original, and IIRC they are tinted not clear like the orginal. IMHO salvage is the way to go.
