Replace curved window road side on 1977 argosy

Just got our argosy back from storage....and had the paint stripped down to the aluminum....looks fantastic, but on our way home took a rock in the window and smashed it. Looks like inland rv has the window....is this very difficult to change? Looks like it....any comments welcome. Thanks

Oh, that's harsh. I'm following this thread to see how you progress. How did it happen? Must have been pretty traumatic. So are you going to have tinted one side and clear on the other?

Lots of rivets need to be drilled out, and replaced. I think something like 90. The clear glass is no longer available so if you buy new, only the dark tinted can be had. Around $900 as I remember others saying. To get clear, you need to find a used window. They are not easy to come by.

Takes a newbie about 3 to 4 hours to change.

Not a biggie job.

Running it through insurance as I really have no idea what I am doing, and they are going to have it replaced with a clear one.

Unless some have been custom made, the new replacement windows are tinted, not clear. If you want a clear replacement so it will match the other side, you will need to find a used window.

Just curious. How did it turn out? Did it flex enough to fit?

I found a used one..it was a perfect fit. Inland was no help..Offered to take it back for a 15% restocking fee and I pay shipping. I believe Andy has retired and it's under new ownership. I still have the new one. Airstream assured me it's the right window. And they explained how to install for future reference. It's "for sale"!

Iím about to replace the roadside wrap window on a 1990, and it doesnít conform perfectly. I am leery about pushing it in even the 1/4Ē it needs. Is yours the roadside, or the curbside? I hope I donít break this one, and need another. Thanks

You mentioned Airstream explained how to install the window. Did they mention what to do if it doesnít fit perfectly?
