Removing windows on '66-'68
I am replacing a side and rear window on my '68 Overlander, and am using windows from an identical parts trailer. The window clamping screws are corroded and seized in the hinge on the "good" trailer, and two have been broken off by the PO -- and repairing (drilling and tapping) in place looks to be difficult. I would like to remove the replacement window complete with hinge from the parts trailer and install as an assembly in the "good" trailer. If I remove (grind off) the thin metal retaining tabs built into the window frame at the ends of the hinge, is there clearance enough for the window and hinge to be slid out along the side of the trailer? I am hoping for an answer from someone out there who actually has done it -- and if they encountered any additional water leakage after their repair.
