Removing lift arms from '70 window flange

What's the trick? I'm replacing a window and need to remove the arm to repalce the window. I've searched the forum and have looked for a set screw but I don't see any. It looks as though there is a thin washer on the outside up against the flange but it doesn't budge. Any thoughts?

That "washer" is what is holding the arm onto the window.

You must remove it.

Use a screw driver to pry it off.

Sometimes they will break, sometimes not.

Keep an eye on that little washer when you pry if off the shaft. I think they can fly up 100' with no wind. Well maybe not but they are easy to loose.

I can't get the lever handle off in order to slide the screen off. Any ideas for that?
