rear bath window replaced !
Hi folks - Seasons greetings from Newfoundland !
Today I finally got a chance, and some decent weather, to install the replacement rear window. I'm now wondering how to deal with the support arms... I manage to drill out the rivets that attached it to the broken window frame but not sure of the best way to remove the old rivet plates.Right now the arms are just tucked in unattached but still in place. Will I be able to remove the Knobs off the end of the arms to work on them ? Also discovered that the lock-lever things don't exactly line up. I will revisit this job in the Spring but for now the new glass will keep the wind and weather out. The Previous Owner had put heavy plastic sheeting over the hole and a half mile of clear packing tape. What's the best product to get this residue off without damaging the clear coat ? Goo Gone works pretty good around the house but I'm afraid it may be too strong..
And finally, it was necessary to remove the Zip Dee awning over this window for this fix. Needless to say , it unravelled quite a bit when released. Can anyone tell me how to re- tension it?
Thanks in advance for your expert advise.
