plastic surround on kitchen window

I just hate this surround - that the roller blind sits within - and want to remove it. But, I have no idea what's behind this plastic panel. Can anyone clue me into what type of project this would *become*?

We disliked ours too on our 73 Safari. Removed it and installed a fresh piece of aluminum on the kitchen wall. Then we sanded the window frame and painted it with silver paint. Since the pic below was taken we installed an aluminum blind. It now looks so much better, very modern.

Sorry I can't recall what is under the old plastic guides. I believe it is the same material that the interior walls are coated with.

Send a message via Skype™ to Zeppelinium
I've removed two of these and both of them had a continuation of the aluminum shell behind them.

I removed mine during the demolition and was happy to see I can just put the screen back on.
I don't have the screen screwed back in yet but you can see it will trim out the window nicely.

If anybody wants to get rid of their kitchen window plastic frame, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands.

You may hate these Kitchen Window surround closeout pieces, but they are no longer available and like many ABS parts of the ''70 era trailers, they are often needed and desirable by many re-furbers.
Please remove them carefully and PLEASE DO NOT toss them in the trash. Let the forum know and you will most likely get takers/buyers.

thanks

I may have one available too. I have to consult with the interior design person (my bride) first, but I don't see putting it back in. Not sure of the condition, but I promise you I haven't thrown ANYTHING out...yet.
