New jalousie window, how to assembly ?

Hi,

I have an Overlander with an original jalousie system.

I've bought in VTS a new jalousie window system but it is little different, I thought when I bought it that I could fix it instead the old.

On this picture : The lenght is too high

On these ones : I can't see how I have to install it, it isn't the same than the original.

It isn't a problem for me to have a different system but can you advize me about the instructions ? Do I have to cut it ?
Do you met the same problem ?

Thank you !

Regards

I have and am rebuilding 2 original Hehr Jalousies. I looked into the VTS system you mentioned and VTS said not to mod. I bought a new regulator, new glass holders, new bumpers, and every other bit they sold. Only thing is to do this you need to deal with tubular rivets.if you need help let me know.
Fix the old. It's worth it.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

Yesterday, I had an answer from VTS and the new system isnít really good to replace the old system.
VTS told that this new system is only when you wish to install jalousie when you havenít one on the Airstream, not to replace one.

On my Airstream, I have 2 jalousie window but I have only one system actually (to be refresh), for sure the other was removed by the pastÖ

If I understand correctly, I have to find an original systemÖ Do you know where can I find it ? I think the lenght is 18íí

Unfortunately finding a Hehr window part might prove both costly and time consuming. Not many left. Also the extrusion used has holes that need specific locations to work.
What is the original problem. Of the 2 I am rebuilding one had rusted rivets on the window clip. Steel and aluminum corrosion. These are fixable.
If you are looking for an upright rail, you may look into the Volkswagen Westphalia forums as the early 1960-early 70, I believe their As41 interior Westy used similar Hehrs. Not sure of the size. Also, Frank's Trailer and eBay.
If you want to pull your original window and rebuild it I can help, but modifying is tricky.

That's what I tought...

Thank you for the precisions, huummm... I'm trying to find an OEM part and in the same time, I'm trying to find a solution with the parts I've bought.

It isn't urgent.

I keep you in touch
