Need to remove '68 Corning Window Trim

Hello to all.. I have late model '67 Safari which in fact has the layout of a '68. In particular the kitchen and windows are of a '68.

I found a '68 corning window in frame and plan to replace the entire 39" double window as the previous owner damaged the existing window frame.

To match the look, Id like to remove the steel metal trim around the outside of the window, but need to be careful not to break the glass in the process. Im sure there is some adhesive in there and was wondering if anyone had undertaken this task.

Ive seen posts about getting steel trim onto '68 replacement windows, but nothing about taking them off. This may be a foolish endeavor....

Also if anyone could link to a thread about window frame replacement considerations, Id greatly appreciate it.

Thanks from Tampa.

The metal frame on the 68 windows, was a "slip fit".

Airstream did not use any adhesive.

However, someone else may have.

The trim should easily be removed by tapping on it with a block of wood, or something else, as long as it will not scratch the glass.

But, if all else fails, and the glass shatters, replacement glass is available.
