looking for a 1962 HEHR Side Window!

I'm looking for a 1962 HEHR side window (16 1/2" X 20"), see attached pics. Anyone got one? know of one? know of someone who knows of one? it's got to match the others in the trailer (see attached pic). the stamped number is: HEHR-L 1299 01186, if that means anything to anyone.

much appreciated! cheers!

Did you ever find a window?? if so where?

I have put the call out several times for our 61 - (same window aluminum extrude) Just missing the top portion of the window - of course the part that has the hinge slide.

Does anyone know of a good place that makes custom aluminum extrude - we are thinking that this is our only route. Not too many RV salvage yards have anything from the early 60's.

While on the topic of the 60's windows I would like to remove mine to replace the gaskets, service the cranks and polish them -frames that is.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the little square crank arm carriers that the arms are attached to???

And is there a substitute for those little carriers anywhere - I am missing two on the back window - they are needed to stop the "chattering" effect and make the arms raise and lower equally.

Wish I had a picture to post but camera is all batteried out!

Thanks for any hints or direction

I never found a replacement window for our 63. Those are REALLY hard to come buy! If you find a shop that sells the extrusion, let me know. I could definitely have them fabricated from that point. the problem is, the extrusion has to be perfect to accept the window seal.

Good luck!

Oh that is not very promising then???

Would we have to look at getting a custom window made and a different hinge system alltogether you think that might be an easier route than trying to find one of the 4 pieces to the frame?

Any ideas on the little slider piece they use in the tracks attached to the lifter arms???

you know, there are camper junk yards. You might just need to keep asking around the forums until someone who has one hears ya. Airstream window frames have got to be the rarest element on earth! haha!
