how to remove inner plexiglass pane of double paned oval window?
I've been following the good advice in threads about fixing failed double glased windows in my 76 Safari. So far I've successfully restored 7 windows by breaking out the inner pane and removing the failed film inside. Interestingly the two curved windows in the front were safety glass on the inside and shattered into a million small pieces when pierced with a diamond drill. These were the easiest to remove. All the other side windows were the kind of glass the breaks into large shards and I had to use the center hole punch on these and it went slower but ultimately was successful.
The last one is a bugger that has stumped my so far. It is the small oval window to the right of the door. I fixed the larger one just above it, and the other small oval just above that, but the lower of the three appears to be plexiglass on the inner pane and it won't break, despite the two holes I've drilled in it so far, and dozens of hits with the center hole punch. I'm pretty sure it is plexiglass, darn it! Any ideas about this one, anybody? I really don't want to have to cut rivets and replace the window. Hoping for some expertise out there...
