Hehr window, rebuild?, install?, rivets?

I have a few questions before the windows are reinstalled (1958 Traveler).

1. For the backframe D gaskets, are the corners cut at 45 degree angles, or straight cut?



2. Butyl tape was originaly used as the sealant along the top of the backframe. I don't plan on taking these windows apart again. Is it better to use a PL urethane Vulkem to seal the top?



3. What kind of rivets fasten the center rail, and frame together? Where can I buy the rivets?



4. Looking for galvanized screen material. VTS is out of stock for a month! My window project is stalled until I can get the screen material. Or, has anyone installed the screens with the windows installed already?

I was at a glass shop today ordering new glass for my windows. No screen material. However, there is a local screen shop! I will try that tomorrow! Thanks.

Take a sample of the screen with you.

Update:

Galvanized screen material no where in sight. I broke down, and bought charcoal aluminum screen material from Lowes. There is also bright aluminum color. I am satisfied with the fit, but time will tell if it holds up.

For the back gasket, I used a 45 degree cut, but not all the way through. I end up with one long piece that wraps around each corner. Just a little practice cutting with a razor.

For the top window frame sealant, I used vulkem instead of the original butyl tape.

Still would like to know the type of rivets used for window frame.
