Hehr Standard Glass Seal

Restoring all my widow to our 1955 Safari, and my question is, should I use an adhesive when installing Hehr Standard Glass Seal?..........thanks

I'm not sure if there was sealant on the original or not. I'm rebuilding the hehr windows on my 58 and I found you need some sealant on them to fix them to the aluminum rim. I only put sealant on the inner edge which fixed the grey gasket in place them used butyl tape on top of that, then the glass which is held by the inner aluminum brackets. This seemed to work well. Hope that makes sense. Ed

I did not use any adhesive when rebuilding the windows on the 1954 Liner. The small pieces of inside trim push the glass against the seal and hold it in place.
