Glass replacement for rear window; How?

The outer safety glass shattered into a zillion pieces, but how or who can repair this window? I was able to remove it from the TT, but don't want to attempt the glass work myself. Any suggestions?

Matt

Is it a (gulp), curved one?

Try and PM RichardT in BatCave NC. He would be able to put you on to the local repair.

If it's a curved one, you don't go to the glass store.

I just found the rear glass in my Argosy shattered into a million pieces myself. Can anyone tell me if it's better to remove the window and try to find someone to replace the glass, or try to get a piece of glass cut to fit and put it in myself. Taking the rear window off looks like a monumental task. This is just a regular, straight piece of safety glass.

Jewel.

Taking the window apart also means taking the hinge off. Then you must rivet the hinge back on, with special sized rivets.

Also the gasket is not available.

Lastly, pulling the two halves of the frame apart is difficult because of the internal steel brackets, but getting it back together again, is something even worse.

Contact your insurance company.

We have that window in stock.

One phone call and it's done.

Andy
