Fixing screen door screen

My screen door screen has come loose in several places. Right now it has been re-fastened with duct tape. I want to redo the door. Unfortunately this is one screen which it appears that I cannot take into my local hardware store to get redone (don't think the door comes off that easy). Any tips/suggestions on how to do it on the unit?

Are you needing new screen or a door?

Buy some new screen material and a screen tool and replace the screen while the door is on the trailer. It is not that hard to do. I did it 3 times in the last year (don't ask). Here is a good guide:
Replacing Screens

Buy the new spline material while you are at it. Bring in a piece of the old spline for sizing but it's probably smushed to tell. The spline is the rubber part pressed into the groove to hole the screen to the door. It comes in several diameters. The new stuff will be so much easier to press in then the old piece you take out and will allow even pressure on the screen.

Buy a quality screen tool - they are usefull in the long haul.

The last screen I put in was made of metal, very difficult to tear, but with enough pressure it can be pushed outr of the door.

We were at happy hour at the April fools rally when a passer by ask if anyone had a yellow lab. The screen was out again.

I bought the screen guards that attach to the door while I was in Tucson last week. Once I get the door repaired I will install them. It is the only positive way I can protect the door.

As a Lab owner and having delt with this for 11 years now, there is only one true"ism" that I live by - "If you fix it, they will break it!!!!!". Go ahead beef up thet screen door guard, weld that hinge, electrify the door, do whatever....... that Lab wants to be with you. That is his or hers goal in life and nothing - NOTHING will get in their way. I have had to live buy the fact that Clancy is smarter than I give him credit for. Heck, he even has me using his name as my logon.
