E-ring removal

I need to replace a window; however, I cannot figure out how to remove the e-ring. I've tried using retaining ring pliers without any luck although I'm not entirely certain what I'm supposed to be doing with them. I must be doing something wrong or missing something.

I usually use a flat blade screwdriver on 'e-clips', and the generally pop right off. A pair of wide jaw pliers like linemans pliers will get them back in place easily.

What year do you have - it's not shown in your profile information. Do you have actual e rings with retaining ring holes in them - or maybe - the dreaded flat snap ring....

I have a '67 Globetrotter. I'm pretty sure it's an e-ring, at least that's what it is called on the vintage rv instruction sheet for window replacement.
