Clutch head screws

On our 1965 Caravel, the Hehr window cranks are fastened to the window frame with clutch head screws. These screws have Zolatone overspray on them, so there is no reason that they were not OEM parts. (see URL for a picture)

I believe the original screw is a zinc 8x1/2" sheet metal screw.

Has anyone found a source for a replacement screw? (Suprisingly, many people suggest a philips or slot head screw, not realizing the importance of originality and the enjoyment of owing a vintage Airstream.)

Thanks,
Keith

Shari,
I found them at a local fastener dealer. They do not have computerized inventory. I had to go through about 5 baskets of screws to find about 50 that matched. (I'm glad they didn't run me out!!!)

Screw source

Those needing off the wall fasteners can always try your local Fastenal store or NUt, Bolts and Things in Wentzville, MO. Phone (636)332-6123 ask for Joe or Joe, they will ship UPS (last time I asked)
