Bubbles in my windows
1974 Excella 500 ALL of my side windows have a clear bubble INSIDE between the panes. My auto glass company says they don't know how to fix it but it would involve disassembly and a lot of man hours. Any Ideas on this problem? Is the window glass available anywhere. Momma Don't Like It!
Thanks!
Greg

Greg,
The bubbles are in the solar film that's attached on the inner surface of the outside window. Many members have broken the inside pane and removed it entirely, then cleaned the film off the other pane and just lived with a single pane solution (didn't I type this same sentence yesterday?).
Some of us are confident we can figure out how to get the window frame apart and solve this problem, but no one has posted photos yet.

Somebody did figure this out recently. Now, if I can just remember who it was. I think I bookmarked it someplace.

If he could only figure a way to get live fish in between the window panes he would have it made.

Thanks for the thread. I have disassembled one window, and aside from the fear factor it went smooth. About 10 minutes and it was apart. I am going to clean and have my glass guy re puddy them and I will reassemble the frames. Still looking for the weatherstrip for the frames.
If I can figure out how to post the photos with notes I will do a step by step.
Thanks!

There are two different types of gasket for the windows.
One is the original double flared gasket, and the other, we feel is far superior, is a "D" shaped gasket.
The "D" shaped gasket is hollow and makes a much tighter seal than the original.

Depending on the size of the bubbles, it's either the coveted Don Ho Limited Edition or that year's offering aimed at the WBCCI Leadership, the Lawrence Welk Champagne Edition.
