Bead in plastic window protectors?

2012 Intl Serenity. The bead on the inside of the plexiglass front window protectors keeps popping out, at the corners first. I have tried wrapping a portion of the bead in tape to give it more thickness, but that only works for a short time. I push the bead back in the channel with a plastic tool and a short time later it is coming out again.
Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
Larry

The vinyl insert has shrunk in length. Find the spot where it has been put together, remove one end of it, and push it back into the channel. When you're done, the insert will be where it needs to be, but there will be a gap between the ends.

Aha, Terry, thanks, that seems like a simple solution. Why didn't I think of that.

That "bead" is a product called "screen spline", available at most hardware stores.

A few of my prior trailers had this same problem. Not only does the length of the spline shrink, it hardens with age/exposure to UV light. I have replace a few. If you decide to install new, make sure to get the correct size since there are several diameters of screen spline available. Take a piece of the old spline with you to compare to the new.

Thanks, not much UV getting in there as it is hidden behind the aluminum channel and the plexiglass is heavily tinted as well. Hope Terry's fix works next time I have those shields open.

After pushing them back in for the umpteenth time, I just cut it at the apex of the corners and pushed it back in. Never had a problem after that.

That might be the best solution! The parts manual shows this as .250 spline so maybe I will order some off Amazon.
