Bambi front side window rock guards

Hello all I have two questions hopefully simply answered. First when using the side window rock guard does one simply detach those rock guards when you are set up? That is what it looks like to me but I am not sure. Second. Do the rock guards if you have them on your AS sit flush around the wrap of your airstream mine are somewhat bowed out and water and debris drops down into the lower seal because the upper seal does not push up against the paneling. Hope this all makes sense thanks

Hi there from Longmont!
We just got a 2004 Bambi a couple of weeks ago and I spent the Thanksgiving weekend cleaning the windows, polishing the front window guards and lots of other detailing.
On our trailer I also noticed that the rock guard gaskets do not fit up against the window frames, so that may be intentional in the design?
When I was all done cleaning everything, the view from inside was pretty great, so aside from propping up the center to open the front center window, I think we'll be leaving the side guards in place while parked in camp.

Cali, I also just found this thread on the same topic. It appears they are more of a 'bumper' rather than a seal.
