Awnings in the way of window removal

I am in the process of resealing windows. When I went to remove my rear window, I find the awning blocks it from lifting all the way up. I hope I don't have to remove the awning. Is there a trick that I am missing?

What is the easiest way to remove / reseal a window that has an awning above it?

Wow! So I learned the hard way on this one. I loosened the right zipdee awning support very carefully. Didn't have any issue. So I loosened the left awning support, it was a little tougher, and then whirrrrrr! Almost took my hand off. Spring loaded is an under statement. LoL

But I can get the window off now. I just need to read about how to reassemble an awning. Ha.

Learning is half the fun, especially since i wasn't injured.
