'70s window horizontal adjustment

Hello,

I recently rebuilt my 70's windows and while reinstalling, I've had trouble with the horizontal alignment of a few of them. On one, the window hits the hinge arm when closing and another doesn't want to stay on the hinge arm due to horizontal alignment issues. What's the best course of action? Should I drill out the guides pictured below and readjust?

Yes.

Each window is adjusted by those end stops when it was originally installed.

It's not a huge change, but there is a difference.

Obviously, you did not reinstall those windows in their original location.

Not a woopie, but adjust each one so that it's centered within the window frame, the part that is riveted to the shell.

Remove both stops, center the window, then reinstall the stops. You can also use the same rivet holes, but you will have to cut new metal plates.
