'69 Safari Curved window?

I just bought a '69 Safari in pretty good shape. I need to replace a couple of the windows, one in the front-corner, which is curved... My "new guy" (I've restored several cars - but am new to Airstream) question is; what other models and what year ranges will utilize the same front (passanger side) corner window?

Thanks in advance,

Hey Mike,

Welcome and congratulations on your recent purchase.

IIRC the 1969 year model was the first to have frontal wing windows (the cuved ones located on each side of the front window). The 69 wing windows are unique as they had three right angle corners (upper inside corner and both lower corners) each as opposed to just two right angle corners (both inside corners) on the later year models. As such they can be very difficult to find. If you're able to find an original one you should consider ading a rock guard to your list of items to be purchased.

Others with 69's have come up with some alternate ways of addressing this issue.

These threads for offer up an idea or two.

or this one though it is not a 69 it is unique. Starting at post #58.

Welcome again and keep in posted as to your progress.

I contacted that ad as well (I need the street side), and he has no wing windows. Good news Airstream still makes the 1969 wing windows, complete with frame, but they are lexan, and they are about $450.00 a piece. I keep holding out for a glass one. 2 came up on ebay and each sold around the $500 when I ran out of airstream money to go after it. We may end up with a lexan one, but for now the plexi the previous owner used, while ugly doesn't leak and is hidden by the rock guard most of the time. Out of Doors Mart has the windows listed on their website for the 69 specifically, and I'm sure all airstream dealers can order them in.
