2014 International 23d

Hi all. We just picked up are used trailer. It is a international 23d. We didn't see when we bought it but the emergency window can not be opened. It is only good to get out of. Is that the case with all of them. There is no handles to keep it open

The emergency exit on our 23fb international is one of the windows in the bedroom ( the street side window at the foot of the bed), but it does open and can be propped open with the typical three position brackets. The only difference is a pull chord that allows the window screen to be removed quickly.

Ok so that is normal. Ghost to know. Going to have to make something up to prop it open. No front to back ventilation with it closed. Do they make something for this. Or making something the best option.

Just use/make a stick to hold it open. If it has hardware to hold it in position, it most probably could not open enough for emergency exit.

Rear window on 2008 International Ocean Breeze. Need ideas

So far this is the only thread regarding the rear window NOT having the typical AS window opening latches, etc.
However, the window in ours does have the mounting plates for those handles and the parts PDFs list those parts.
However, there are no slots for the handle rods to stick through like all other windows which leads me to believe that Airstream just did not put them in.
One reason I see is that the shower wall overlaps the window edging thus not allowing a rod/handle/opener to even work on that side.
Me thinks AS just bailed out on this issue.
OR, maybe dkottum was correct in his assessment.
So how do we open the window to get air to flow through?
Go outside and pull it open up to the awning and then duct tape window to awning? Stupid idea!!!! I want to be able to open it from inside and prop it open......
I am open to suggestions here. What have you done to fix this problem?
Thanks

Gary, we went for a bike ride tonight and almost froze with just a wool sweater on, last night 46 degrees F.

But we still want ventilation in the trailer. Our Safari 20' had the same back window deal, an emergency exit probably required by some safety code, so had the locking latches but no bars to push and hold it open. If it did have the normal bars to hold it open you could not climb out, I imagine.

Sometimes we would just open it enough (from the outside) to rest on the turned latches, or go outside and prop it open with a stick. Perhaps you could add the standard Airstream window props.

Yes, I think I will order those window parts and install them.
I also want to be able to get rear window ventilation.
Will see if anyone has a better idea.

This has been brought up before. Do a search. We have a 20 FC and I use foam grips from a bike to prop our rear window open. Not tonight though, in the eastern Sierras and it's raining and thundering right now.

Hey Gary,
We have the same trailer - I just use the window next to the bed and turn on the front fantastic fan and it pulls air through like crazy. IF you DO put those arms on though let me know - my husband Jim is always up for a project. Congrats on your new trailer.
