1970 window glazing and weatherstrip replacement
Hi all. So after spending most of the last two days taking apart the 2 small windows in the Overlander and putting them back together, the large curved windows weren't such a dream. We ordered window gasket and new "D" weatherstrip from VTS. The small windows look great. The large ones,. Not so much.
We pushed, greased, pulled apart, cut off bits, tried and tried again. The gasket materiel slips, the frame doesn't fit, and after applying the weatherstrip, doesn't fit the window frame on the body.
We stayed up reading and watching videos. Came to the assumption of this, the glass is different thickness per large to small window, the gasket/glazing is different per glass and half year production, and same with the weatherstrip.
We will be calling VTS and trying to return unused still packaged gasket/glazing. And attempting to reorder new for the thicker glass.
Does anyone have any ideas tried and true that can help us out with this dilemma?!
