1969 Window removal

We just purchased a 1969 Airstream that needs new gaskets around the windows...only problem is that I cannot figure out how to remove the windows to make removing the old gaskets easier and to prevent any damage to the window itself by trying to do it with the windows attached. Any ideas?

Piece of cake:
Diconnect the window actuators (opening rods) so that you can open or raise the window past the 90 degree position and voila!

Remove the "window lift arms."

Raise the bottom of the window abovge your head, almost 180 degrees, so that the bottom of the window is very high.

Look out, because the window will now drop out of the hinge.

The hinge is a double "J".

Use extreme caution, when reinstalling the front and rear windows and the large curved windows.

You should have someone help you since the hinges "MUST" properly engage. If they do not properly engage, they will more than likely be damaged, when you attempt to lower the window.

A word of caution. The 69 hinges are not available and have not for over 30 years. They are not interchangeable with newer hinges. If you damage them, you will
have extreme difficulty straightening them back to original shape.
