1964 Sovereign Windows - They keep cracking!

I have replaced the windows - flat glass, 3/32 single pain - several times on my trailer and they keep braking while driving down the road or closing the windows. I guess the flex is too much for such thin glass... I am thinking of replacing them with tempered 1/8 glass. Does anybody have some experience with this? Any other idea? Thanks. Laurent
