Here are some photos of some windows I pulled on Friday - I celebrated Veteran's Day with a Sawz-all! The are all 18" x 31" except the bathroom (frosted glass one) is 18" x 19".

hey rob,

where are you measuring from for those dimensions? the inner frame, or the outter one?

also, do they mount in the frame the same way my originals do? with an aluminum bit that slides into a channel (see pic below).

thanks!

jp

ps. i wish i could justify another tradewind! the bunk model is really cool!

So these aren't the same style windows as your or just the wrong size?

well, i'll have the guys number on my computer somewhere. i don't think he's sold it. last time my parents deove by, they said he moved it behind his house. i started a post on it when i was up there, cash in hand.

http://www.airforums.com/forum...ind-26253.html

if i got it, i wanted to restore it... until i saw the belly pan, and stood on the rear bumper... yikes! but it's got a LOT of nice 1960 vintage pieces in it. i had thought about buying it for parts, but all i'm lacking is a rear window and some openers... and the cool bargman door handle...

Measuring

I am measuring from outside of the window frame to outside of the window frame. Just put the 1960 Trade Wind in the forums.

crap, i just double checked my windows... 18.5" X 39.5". i could probably make it work with 2, and my buddy's TIG. can you tell me how the window frames mount to the trailer? i'm wondering if they would slide into the original frame i have mounted to the trailer, rather han having to fabricate everything... it would work as a temporary fix, if nothing else.

Just thinking . . .

Hey, A-Merry-Can, if he still has it, do you think this Knoxville guy can be moved off his $1000 asking price? Can you remember if it was an Ohio trailer? You need a rear window and I need a front, right? And this 1960 TW in Knoxville, would it have the rear window size you need? And Brad may be interested in parts, there may be other 59-60 owners wanting stuff too . . . . Knoxville isn't far from Chattanooga. Yeah, I'm just thinking out loud like Brad. No promises, but I would be willing to take a look at this trailer but can't until the week of the 27th. Wana go to Knoxville?

Street side tub

I would be interested in a street side tub if it was in good condition.

I like the way you're thinking Sugarfoot.

I have two items on my need list. Other items are purely wants. I need the piece of extruded aluminum that goes on the sliding door cabinet over the bed(s) on a CA built trailer. The other item is an end part of my bathroom light. One I've not seen on any other vintage Airstream.

My want list depends on what's in there and what won't be needed by others. Veritas gas lamp, door handle, eight sided phenolic knobs and hardware, brass water fill cap and the list goes on.

If either or both of you head off to see this trailer, please take along a digital camera and send me pix. I would appreciate it and we can all take this off the guys hands.

Curbside wet bath may indicate an Ohio built trailer. Don't recall seeing a curbside wet bath on a CA model. Fred? You listening?

as for the tradewind in knoxville, i have several pics of it... tons, actually. i was cash in hand ready to buy, so i took as many as i could. i'll be towing our tradewind up to knoxville for thanksgiving weekend, and can probably look at it, get it, whatever we need. it would be nice to have a parts trailer, that's for sure. the windows in the tradewind are slightly larger than i need... which is a GOOD thing, cause i can cut them down. i can e-mail a load of them tomorrow, if you guys want to see em. PM me your EM addresses.

the interior on this trailer is really nice, considering everything. if it was trashed, makign it a parts trailer would be a no-brainer... but with a solid interior, who knows what's best? i do know a total frame rebuild would be needed. the rear sags 3 inches, i can stick my finger in one of the holes in the tongue.

other than that, it's got the window operators i need, a nice stove, if i remember correctly, and the cool bargman doorhandle and door. i wouldn't mind swapping my 18 footer door for it, since mine got bent back really bad.

did i mention the skins are in really good shape?

i don't know if he'd take less. i didn't haggle with him much, once i saw the rust... my dreams of having yet another airstream to "someday" restore were withering fast! ha! but if we seriosuly have enough people interested in parts, i wouldn't mind chipping in as well.

Curbside wet-bath, and streetside closet, sounds like an OH. Have digital camera, will travel. ANTS! Where's my Raid? Jordan, PM me with that guy's phone number if you get a chance. Do you know if this TW is towable or will the frame fall apart on the highway?

These frames I have should work for you.

They unfortunately wouldn't work for me But they will work for you.

You owe me what they charged me and we are even. Thank flyfshr and Tripp for locating them.

Between the two you can defiantly make one window but you might be able to salvage both is you are good with that tig and a file. Both windows have regulators and I think they are good. Couple handles need to be replaced.

I wanted to keep the regulators for parts to possibly make a new set of frames for mine. Keep an eye out for some more to get me some spares and you can have these since you are probably going to be to the point of using them long before me. You have my cell..give me a ring this week and we can work out how to get these to you.

There might be a new source of window operators for the 58-60 Hehr Clearview windows. I'm working on Kevin at VTS to get some new ones made.

Stay tuned.
