Where is a good place to get hardware?

My mom does not know where my father left the keys to the out side acces doors I have a key to main door but it will not fit outside access doors so I need new ones the two battery doors are lever key operated the others are push lock and twist types anyone know where I can find them?

Find a friend with an Airstream as much like yours as possible and borrow his key. The key you are looking for is probably a generic 1101X and the same key is used on nearly all of the exterior access doors for this era Airstreams.

The water and battery keys are sometimes outliers, though. But again, a friend with a similar trailer probably has a key that will work.

Newer ones often use a CH751. Sometimes your local hardware or RV place might have these.

I believe the water key for '70s are the same. Check with other owners of those years in your area. My lock on my water door was froze on my '82. I drilled it out and still trying to get it out. Last resort!!!!! I have replaced my battery door locks. Got them from a local SOB dealer.

Mrcrowley,

I had my local locksmith make a key for the water fill door. It took him only 15 minutes.

Mrcrowley,

I don't remember, it was almost four years ago. It was very reasonable and I had some duplicates keys made also, probably less than $50. I needed the key made because the water fill door key was different than the battery and storage compartment doors. I have two keys for the four doors.
