What is, is, what ain't, ain't

Hi all I am new to the forum. I am in the process of repairing the door lock mech on this old 1954 and some stuff is missing. I have a door that will latch and open from the outside, the outside handle has a lock in the middle of pivot. when the door is open there is only a metal square rod extending to the inside of the door. I have looked up parts and determined that my lock mech. is missing on the inside along with the inside handle. Do any of you guy's have a picture or parts schematic of the door latch/lock assy.? Also the key lock on the outside handle, does the key simply make the handle slip on the rod?

You may contact "Cobb" on these forums. I sold him my 56 SOTR several months ago. He is in New Braunfels. I know I had several lock parts in the batch of parts I sold to him with the trailer, and he might be able to get you some pictures of it.

I posted a thanks but it isn't here. I said that this is the SOTR you sold Cobb.(odds are he hasn't had 2 56 sotr's in the past few months) He or you did an excelent restore and sold it to my Friend.
I have new info on my problem. The origional post is totally wrong. It was late in the day and I was fighting wasps while inspecting the door.
To make a longer story short I need to replace the exhisting dead bolt with a key lock dead bolt. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
