Question screen door sliding bug guard

I was wondering if anyone knew where I might find a new sliding bug guard for my screen door?

Thanks,

Welcome to AS Forums M&M! I hope you find this site as useful and productive as many.

Forum rules govern how much retailers can blow their own horn. I don't have any interest in this business, so here goes. Andy at www.inlandrv.com has provided a lot of good advice and service. Take a look at:

It even has the part number and toll-free number on the photo. Says it's $13.75 without shipping. Some careful saw and sandpaper action will be needed to get it down to size.

Come back often!!

For something as recent as 2002 I would try Jackson Center. I believe the newer slides have an Airstream logo in them, not that the other isn't fine, but...original might cost a little more??.

Thanks so much for the info, I'll call Jackson Center today. I wanted to replace the bug guard with the original equipment and was unable to find it on the Inland RV site.

Dear RivetED,

Tried your suggestion of calling Jackson Center and was given a part number to give to my local AS dealer. Marty's USRV said they had it in stock and sent it out that day. Just got my package in the mail and it was the large screen guard for the bottom of the screen door. Called parts and they're trying to find out the part number for me. Interesting, they asked me for my VIN # like that would matter???? They said they didn't have a record of that number. Does that mean they're not going to help me because we didn't purchase from them? I haven't heard back from her since I gave her the VIN # about 6 hours ago. Anyway, I'll try and call Jackson Center again today to get the correct part # and start all over again.

Thanks, Mary

I believe the VIN # is used to track production changes, that way you get the right part the 1st time, in theory!! There was a fire in their service & parts facility this year & it appears they are working from a temporary location in a usable area of the service center. One of our friends had some difficulty this year getting the right part for their 2002 Safari, I got it for them while in Jackson Center after 2 failed attempts through the mail. I'd give them another call, try to talk to the same person each time, & be patient. They are going through some growing pains & will do the right thing, eventually, I believe!

It's been straightened out and the sliding bug guard is on its way. They told me at Airstream that the logo comes separate from the bug guard. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to glue the Airstream logo onto the bug guard. Thanks in advance for your help.
