Screen Door Hinge Attachment

I have recently acquired a screen door from a late 70's unit to replace my missing screen door in my '82 limited. The PO removed the screen door some time ago and only the hinges remain.
I have cleaned up and rescreened the new screen door and ready to install. the existing hinges have 6 holes for the rivet attachments that match up to the screen door. There is a small "pocket" in the screen door frame on the interior channel of the door behind the "door handle side" set of rivet locations.
Does the door hinge flush mount to the outside face of the screen door or does the hings slide into that pocket somehow? I am thinking that the pocket on the back is to allow clearance for the rivets that will lie behind the frame.
I have a photo of a '99 screen door; is there a difference in the install in the '82 vs newer models?

(Pics of an installed unit hinge would be helpful)

Thanks in advance!!!!

As an added bonus to my screen door install (it appears to have been missing for some time), I found during a dry fit yesterday that when the PO replaced the entry lock, It was installed too low and the interior of the door handle assembly doesn't clear the opening in the screen door. I am working on adjusting this as well. I guess I will really appreciate the screen door when I get it installed!

Here are the reference pics from a much newer rig. Does the '82 version surface mount the same way?

Ok, here is the front and rear of the screen door. The rear pics show the slot i referred to above. Is that just clearance for the rivets?

So, just to go full circle here, I called airstream and was able to get the info.
on the newer models, the screen is surface mounted. On the '82 the hinge attachment slides into the "pockets" on the back side of the screen door.
