Rust showing on inside of entrance door

I have a friend that has a 2016 25’ Flying Cloud and has noticed this on the inside of the entrance door. Has anyone got a clue what it is and where is it coming from? Click image for larger version

Looks like either water stain or oil from lock handle. Check and make sure lock does not have a leak or that lock mech was not over oiled

Best seal it all. Captain Tolley's Creaping Crack cure for the exterior rivets as well as the window perimeter. For the lock handle, I would disassemble and use polyurethane on the exterior plate and re-assemble. Been there done that. Most of it comes in my window frame.

Had a couple of these down the inside of the door for about 6 months after we got ours. The dealership did some work on the door window, caulked/sealed it really well and everything was golden from that point on. Of course they had to do a full leak test first, so had the AS back in about 3 weeks. All in all, it worked out well though, no complaints.

Hopefully AS will fix, the confidence with their ability isn’t real high from work they have done so far, not impressed with AS, they should hire A&P mechanics so it would be fixed right the first time.

AS says defective door seal, I call BS, wouldn’t start half way down door seam and handle... told them to remove inner liner and inspect eveeything and pressure check.

I really thiink AS is relying on their past history as their work ethic, ability to troubleshoot and fix, quality of work is as bad as it gets.

I am very disappinted in AS and their s**** work, they suck!

Ill ride them like a broken down mule until they fix!

Could be BS. Could also be true. Leaks are notoriously difficult to source. A leak can start 15 feet from where you find the drops or be right at the point - too many x-variables. FWIW - riding them like a broken down mule isn’t likely to produce results. Assume positive intent - see what happens. If they fix it and it still leaks, they’ll fix it again. Just a suggestion - your mileage may vary - that’s cool [emoji3]

Are you calling out Airstream or the dealer in you rant Beargods? They are two very different identity's, Airstream being the manufacturer and the dealer, being the sales outlet for Airstream. If the dealer is a good dealer it will know a great deal about repairing and diagnosing your problems. To call BS is a good way to create problems down the road, and a mule can kick back!! As SteveSueMac stated about leaks, they are often hard to find. Seeing your post history I must assume that you are new to the Airstream product. The learning curve is about to begin!! Asking for help to solve a problem goes a lot further than demanding and intimidating. In sales we always went out of our way to help "nice", and "nasty" always waited!!

We had that EXACT thing happen. Water was leaking into the top of the door because it wasn't adjusted right. After a door adjustment, no more brown streaks.

We had this exactly problem--looked exactly the same—and it was just a misadjusted door (the top was sticking out too far, catching rain).

Apparently water was running down inside the door, then collecting on a cross brace and coming out through the rivets that were there.

(On a separate occasion, we had a leak in our bathroom that only showed up in torrential downpours. Finally diagnosed as a faulty seal... on the air conditioner. Water was finding its way through quite a route to get to the bathroom.)

I have been dealing with Orange County AS for awhile.... on this one after 3 weeks they just started looking. On most visits it takes them 2 to 4 times to fix anything right, even basic stuff. Thier quality of work is really bad and terrible customer servive or follow through..

Ive even called AS customer service, I think all in all id give AS real low marks, terrible in everything, not impressed at all.

Living off past glory!

Is the cause of this typically a door that needs adjustment?

I brought a 2019 trailer to Colonial, and was told this was not covered under warranty because the sealant around the locks and handle had failed. I paid to have it fixed, and guess what, it's still leaking.
