Has anyone used the L200sp for a newer 70s or later trailer? The butcher job that was done on my trailer lock has been corrected with a patch, but I am not happy with the lock and would like to put on the vintage style. It now has a handle style home depot lock the p.o. put on.
I think the 200sp has a long enough bolt to reach through the frame correctly.

Sorry, but the L-200 striker bolt length is not long enough to go thru the cast metal door frame, and engage the striker pocket, that you have.

I see that, and tried one a friend has, but the 200SP model has a much longer striker bolt.

Bargman L-200SP SKU3330L [682399L]

Must be a special purpose model I guess.

The L-100 and L-200 are the same except for the inside handle.

The L-100 has a round inside knob.

The L-200 has staright inside handle, that break when you slam the door. That's the # 1 reason most owners repalce them.

The L-100 Special is the same as the L-2oo special, except for the inside handle.

But, in either case, they are designed to work with the "cast metal" door frame.

Somewhere in all my stuff I found one of the L-200 handles. I tried it on the door of my Trade Wind just to see how it worked compared to the knob. It was very difficult to operate through the screen door. I took it off immediately and put the interior knob (L-100) back on.

How does the knob model work with the screen door? That is the main problem, the one we have sticks in too far for the slide. I could leave the slide back when I close the door but isn't it supposed to clear with the slide over it?

No.

With the slide open, the knob protrudes through leaving you plenty of room for knuckles to clear the screen door. With the door closed, you don't need the slide shut anyway.

Thanks. THis trailer originally would have had the flat on the outside lock, but the way it has been set up the round handle will work and look way better.
