Replacement for Bargman L-100

Hi, I'm looking for a replacement lock for my 69 Ambassador. I've taken the lock apart, cleaned and inspected. It's worn beyond being able to use one of the rebuild kits. The plates are cracked, threading is worn, and part of molding that accepts the screw is broken.

I've been looking around for a couple weeks now and can't find an affordable replacement for the Bargman L-100. I believe I have one of the models with the longer lock bolt.

I have her parked on the street so need to come up with a solution soon. Does anyone know of another brand/model of lock that might work as a replacement? Has anyone tried any of the TriMark models?

Thanks in advance!

I sent you a private email. I can help you with a new in box Bargman L-100 or L-200 lock. I sent both a private and regular email to you.

The Trimark lock as a replacement works great.

But it must be modified with a longer striker bolt, a longer lock bolt, and shims.

A replacment kit is available, but it's cost is a function of all the changes and modifications to it.

No commercially availale lock, as an example, has the longer striker bolt, which it must have because of the thickness of the cast door frame.

L100 or L200 are not the correct lock for 1969

I don't believe that is correct, because that is what is on my 69 globetrotter. the door has never been modified.

Frank.

The lock for the 69odels was Chessler.

The L-100 or the L-200, is/was the exact replacement.

Thanks Andy. I would love to upgrade the lock. For how much I'd have to pay for a reproduction or rebuilt Bargman I just figure get a better lock. The L-100s just don't seem like they are made very well.

Do you have any of the TriMark available with the replacement kits or do you know where I may be able to source them?

Thanks for all your help!

Andy we bought a replacement lock from you for our 1984 motorhome but when we got it the size was very different, we would have to cut the outside of the door one way and have a hole in the other side were the locks different for the trailers and the motorhome maybe? Steve (Australia)
