Please help with 1971 Doorlock...

Hi all,

can anyone of you guide me to a replacement Lockcylinder for our 1971 Ambassador Maindoor?? The 1972 Service Manual says that it is a 'Corbin LC 02065 3/4' Has anyone out there already replaced his/her lock? We don´t want a new doorlatch ($500,- up is way too much), but we have to replace the cylinder...
I found a lock with the same numbers from CCLSecurity (which was Corbin), but thats a drawer lock and I am unsure if it fits and a am not shur what the 3/4 stands for... It is 3/4 of an inch I guess but what does it discribe??

Thanks for your help!

Bjoern,

Call Ron, at South Jersey RV (856) 697-9600. He replaced the lock on my 71 Sovereign.

I am having a similar problem with my '69 Sovereign. It has a Chesler lock and I have two keys for it. With my tendancy to loose things I am trying to duplicate the keys. My usually "no fail" locksmith has made copies (using an ilford key blank) that don't work. He said bring in the tumbler and he can make ones that will fit for sure. How on earth do you get the tumbler out. It looks like it has a pin on the handle that he aid should be removable if you put the key in and turn to the locked position. I tried(gently) but am concerned about breaking stuff. Any suggestions?
thanks, bill b.

So,

now we have a new lock cylinder incl. 2 keys... We got it from OutOfDoorsMart for $36.26 plus shipping! What a great source!! They have plenty of stuff in the online store and if things are missing, just ask for it, they´ll have it somewhere.
