Pic or info on the original door latch/handle assembly on a '61 Ambassador.

I'd LOVE to know for certain what the factory door latch/lock assembly looked like in 61'. I assume all 61' ASs are the same?
I'd LOVE to see a detailed picture of the outside and inside.

Don't mean to highjack Studioman's thread, but does anyone if/how I can get keys made when I don't have the original key?

Sure if you have a good locksmith. I have a local shop that make them for me all the time. I have only had one lock that he could not make a key for out of about 20 locks.
