Oxidized latch / handle assemblies
One of the things I know I'm going to get asked to do is remedy the sharp/rough exterior finish of the door latch plates. The finish has peeled, but isn't pliable, making it rather sharp to the point that it may cut skin. The aluminum under it is pitted horribly as well.
Does anyone know of an inexpensive replacement, or should I just carefully grind it down to revive a smooth exterior? I'm not going to be doing a full-blown remodel, so it's not necessary to have it be extra-purdy.
