need door knob/lockset '61 Overlander

Well, my original Chesler Doorknob/lockset has broken again, the outside knob just turns doesn't engage. I had it fixed once by a locksmith, he said the only permanent fix was to locate a new one(not likely they are not manufactured anymore) or replacement unit and use it for parts. Has anyone got one out there? It's a doorknob, not a latch, I'll try and take a picture of it and attach to a post. Thanks. Mike

Andy at Inland RV sent me a link to the Bargman L100 doorknob/lockset as a possible re fit. Has anyone retrofitted their old style Chesler lock with the Bargman? Andy stated that re plating the door would be necessary. Not sure how involved this is. The new Bargman looks very similar to the old Chesler. I'd appreciate any comments/help. thanks Mike
