My 1975 Overlander lock won't open, it just keeps turning

Hi Everyone,

I have a 75 overlander which I am having problems with unlocking the door. I insert the key, and I can keep turning in both directions, but nothing unlocks. I am afraid to force the key past it's stopping point in fears that the key will break. Are there any tricks of the trade, or am I just going to have to replace the lock? Would a little WD-40 help? Or it this a mechanism problem that needs to be replaced? If so, where the heck should I start? Please let me know what to do. I am a novice, and am grateful for wisdom from my AS elders.

Thanks!
Lucy P

Hi,

I do know Out of doors Mart has lock kits on there web site, you may be better off replacing the lock, but I'm sure someone more knowledegable than I will chime in.

Repair

Sounds like there is a part in there broke, hopefully you can get in a window to get the door open. Then take lock apart and find the broken part. There are some parts available ,and a a lot cheaper than a new one. Dave
