Lock problem '72 sovereign

Can't open exterior door, which is locked and key will not turn in lock. Had lock repaired once before and it worked for a while. How do I get lock off so I can take it to someone for possible repair? if I need a new lock, any ideas about sources and prices. Thx

Contact Andy at Inland RV. He knows how to gain access to your trailer. You will need to call him on the phone because of security reasons he won't publish that information here on the forums.

Removal

There are 4 screws that hold the lock assembly in the door. 3 on the inside of the door and one one the edge near the bolt. There is a larger screw that holds the inside handle to the shaft that must be removed along with the handle. You will also need to remove the rivets from the lower portion of the upper skin on the inside of the door in order for the shaft for the inside handle to clear as you remove the lock assembly from the outside.
I have had mine out on a number of occasions to make various repairs. If you need help with repairs I may be able to help.
A used lock is $300.00+, if you can find one; a new one is close to $600.00.
